The Industrial Hygiene Specialist will develop and coordinate the execution of industrial hygiene systems throughout the corporation. Ensure that programs and processes are in place for efficient and effective achievement of company objectives as related to industrial hygiene. Identify deficiencies in programs and practices and develop strategies to correct those deficiencies. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Stewardship of the Industrial Hygiene (IH) program.
- Responsible for Safety Data Sheet repository and maintenance/update processes.
- Point of Contact for IH inquiries and IH regulatory interpretations.
- Developing IH practices, procedures, and implementation plans.
- Identifying deficiencies and opportunities for improvement in the IH programs and assist in developing strategies for resolution.
- Create, develop, and improve working relationships with various groups across the operating footprint, including Labs, Field Safety, Operations, Maintenance, HR, IT, and Distribution.
- Assist in executing departmental goals that support and meet the expectations of executive management.
- Participate in industry associations, such as AIHA and ASSP, as appropriate.
Requirements
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety or other relevant technical field or equivalent years of experience is required.
- 5 years of experience in Industrial Hygiene in oil, gas, or petrochemical industries.
- Working knowledge of midstream energy industry facilities such as pipelines (gas, liquids, and natural gas liquids), pump and compressor stations; gas and liquid measurement facilities; above and below ground storage; liquid terminals, gas processing facilities, or natural gas liquids fractionation is required.
- A self-starter who is comfortable as the subject matter expert and driven to continuously develop.
- Ability to evaluate issues, define requirements, and implement action plans to accomplish organizational goals is required.
- Organized and multi-task prioritization skills to support multiple groups.
- Strong experience in stressor measuring and monitoring and developing programs to meet risk observations.
- Radiation Safety Officer Certification a plus.
- Proven skills in the areas of communication across organizational lines. Conflict resolution skills are required. Can accept feedback and work with organizational peers to identify solutions that protect employees and the company.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office suite required. PowerBi proficiency is a plus.
