Data Conversion Consultant | Eclipse

This is a billable position, responsible for performing data conversions from legacy ERP systems into the Eclipse ERP system. The data conversion process is employed in new customer implementations, mergers, and acquisitions. Responsible to deliver the key components of the data conversion process and tasks, including go live events. Position can be located anywhere throughout the US. This individual will occasionally be expected to travel to customer locations in the US.

What you will be doing:

• Lead, monitor, and communicate the progress of all data conversion activities including customer tasks and timelines.
• Perform electronic data conversions for customers.
• Provide guidance to customers on data extraction and mapping.
• Use existing data conversion tools and help develop and refine new tools.
• Perform source to destination data mapping.
• Create and modify existing custom PICK subroutines and programs as necessary.
• Troubleshoot and provide resolution to import data errors.
• Develop, revise, refine data conversion tools and methodologies.
• Manage and coordinate multiple simultaneous projects.
• Work directly with customers and Epicor project managers and application consultants.
• Provide billable consulting services subject to knowledge areas, which might include travel to customer locations.

What you will likely bring:

• Experience in leveraging multiple data conversion methodologies
• Strong understanding of database structures
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Good understanding of wholesale distribution including knowledge of general business processes such as accounting, inventory management, and order processing desired
• Ability and availability for occasional weekend and evening work

Qualification:

• 5+ years technical consulting, software engineering, programming, data conversion, or similar profession
• Strong technical background in Linux and the Pick/Universe programming language is preferred
• Eclipse experience preferred
• High school diploma
• Bachelor's degree – Computer Programming or related field or equivalent experience
