First Student is now hiring a Utility Worker serving the PUSD – Porterville Unified School District!
Our Utility Worker maintains and fuels all the white van fleet in conjunction with First Student's Maintenance Department: dispenses fuel, stocks required supplies and equipment and coordinates the flow of vans to ensure safe operation. Performs light maintenance as necessary to buildings and grounds.

As a Utility Worker, your major responsibilities will be to:
· Checks van parking areas to ensure all can be dispatched in a timely manner. Re-positioning any vans that may impede the traffic in the yard.
· Ensures that adequate supplies to perform checks are maintained at the fuel island.
· Inspects all vans during fueling or on a regularly scheduled basis for physical damage. Any damage will be reported immediately to the Location Manager or designee.
· Performs maintenance of buildings and grounds to include yard cleanliness, empty trash cans, or any other yard projects that are assigned, as necessary.
· Maintaining the appropriate credentials to drive a regular route as required to cover the day's activities.
· Assists with reserving rental vans/dropping off rental vans.
· Performing any other management requests or directives as requested.
· Keeping vans fueled/washed and ready for use
· Fixing and repairing seats and similar items
· Performing minor repairs and other general maintenance duties
Utility Worker Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Knowledge of bus maintenance
• Ability to learn maintenance skills.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
