To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Advanced Engineering Director located in Shenzhen.

The advanced engineering director is accountable for the development of technology and platform for next generation high power supplies. This job will supervise a team of engineers and technician. The job encompass development of next 3-5 years technology roadmap, proof of concept, platform working prototypes, design simulations, patent application and technology presentation materials. This job require engagement with suppliers and industry work groups on latest available technology, research of new inventions, collaboration with product development design teams, communication and presentation to customers, marketing and senior executives. This position reports to VP of engineering.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Develop 3-5 years technology roadmap aligned with the company business need, market trend and technology advancement.

  • Develop best in class technology to compete with tier 1 competitors to showcase capability and win new business. Application is focus on but not limited to high power switching power supplies for data center application such as power shelves, and power racks.

  • Investigate and implement latest materials and technology on magnetics core, geometry, winding technique, assembly structure to achieve best in class efficiency and size.

  • Investigate and implementation of latest devices, design architecture and topology, firmware control & algorithm to achieve best in class performance.

  • Perform calculation and simulation of schematic design, magnetics design and thermal management.

  • Development of fully working prototypes for internal and external demonstration. Prototypes (reference design) with quality and maturity level that can be handed to product design team to continue development and bring to mass production, reducing time to market.

  • Support design team by performing design review of new designs, and analysis to resolve complex design issues.

  • Support marketing, sales and company executives in presenting the latest technology and sample demonstration.

  • Work with suppliers to identify and drive latest technology on component and devices.

  • Collaborate with design team in implementing latest designs and technology.

  • Collaborate with CTO and advance technology center (ATC) on new technology and inventions.

  • Participation in power technology workgroups such as CPES, IEEE transaction and others.

  • Regular updates to VP of engineering and knowledge sharing with internal design teams.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • More than 15-year experience in power electronics with background on high power in server and data center application. Experience in BBU, energy storage and rack power are a plus.

  • Experience in managing a team of engineers and technician with hands on attitude.

  • Good communication both in oral, writing and presentation in English.

  • Good interpersonal skill, able to deal with multi-cultural and level of people.

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Master's degree, PhD is a plus.

  • Self-driven, team player and competitive attitude to be industry best in class.
