  • Engineering Technician -4 role at Flex involves performing hands-on debugging, validation, and system-level failure analysis of next-generation server and rack systems within a high-mix, high-ambiguity manufacturing environment.

  • This position requires advanced technical skills and the ability to provide guidance and training to other technical personnel

  • The technician will collaborate with engineering teams, contribute to documentation, and monitor equipment productivity while adhering to safety guidelines

  • Troubleshoots and repairs complex mechanical and electrical assemblies used in equipment at the component level

  • Installing and configuring infrastructure including servers, racks, switches and other hardware including liquid cooling, power

  • Provides technical assistance and guidance to other technical personnel

  • Collaborates with engineering on functionality issues and procedure updates

  • Presents training, when necessary, to the new build and service assembler teams

  • Contributes to the development of work instructions, batch records, equipment logs, material specifications and other device history documents

  • Helps monitor productivity of our equipment by tracking yields and equipment cycle rates

  • Assists with the installation, debug and validation of Test equipment

  • Follows all safety guidelines and reports unsafe conditions to supervisor

  • Develops and maintains Debug Guide to troubleshoot PCBA

  • Provides training and PCBA debugging guidance to other debug technicians

  • SPECIALIZED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may be required for certain positions. These could include one or more of the following duties:

  • Assist with the development and delivery of customer presentations and interface with customers.

  • Partner with engineers on outside third-party developments

  • Organize documentation (specifications, schematics, and procedures).

  • Perform tests per customer specifications and requirements.

  • Education / Experience

  • Typically requires an Associates degree, military training, equivalent vocational training, or equivalent experience.  Typically requires 10 years of related experience.
