Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Equipment Maintenance Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Equipment Maintenance Manager the Equipment Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, transfer, and optimization of SMT and SCP manufacturing equipment. This role supports pilot and production operations by ensuring equipment reliability, maximizing uptime, and leading equipment-related continuous improvement initiatives. The position also provides technical leadership to maintenance technicians and supports new equipment installations, line transfers, and manufacturing startup activities.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures involving mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software systems.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on SMT and SCP manufacturing equipment.
  • Install, commission, validate, relocate, transfer, and debug production equipment and manufacturing lines.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for SMT and SCP production operations.
  • Lead installation activities for SMT lines, Edge Bonding equipment, SCP equipment, and Reflow Ovens.
  • Conduct equipment calibrations, qualifications, and re-certifications per established schedules.
  • Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions to improve uptime and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment logs, downtime reports, and technical documentation.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Process, Quality, and Operations teams to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities with equipment vendors and external service providers.
  • Support pilot builds, NPI projects, equipment transfers, and capacity expansion projects.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Maintenance Technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in as a planner or a similar position.
  • Intermediate English (spoken and written).
  • Strong knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with ASM SIPLACE platforms.
  • Experience programming and optimizing equipment using SIPLACE Pro.
  • Knowledge of industrial programming languages, PLCs, automation systems, or scripting tools.
  • Experience supporting SMT and SCP production floors.
  • Knowledge of equipment qualification, calibration, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • People management skills.
