Position Summary

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily activities of the Facilities Maintenance team to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation of building systems, utilities, and infrastructure throughout the Flex Columbia manufacturing campus. This position provides direct supervision of maintenance personnel, contractors, and service providers while supporting facility improvement projects, preventive maintenance programs, operational excellence initiatives, and regulatory compliance requirements.

The Facilities Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining uninterrupted support for manufacturing operations by ensuring facility systems, including electrical distribution, HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, fire protection, and building infrastructure, are maintained in accordance with company standards and applicable codes.

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we're calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise, schedule, and direct daily activities of Facilities technicians, electricians, plumbers, and contract personnel.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to facilities team members.

  • Ensure work assignments are prioritized and completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

  • Conduct shift handoffs, team meetings, and safety briefings.

  • Support employee development through training, mentoring, and skills assessments.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Facilities Operations

  • Oversee maintenance and operation of:

    • Electrical distribution systems

    • HVAC systems

    • Compressed air systems

    • Plumbing systems

    • Fire alarm and fire suppression systems

    • Emergency generators

    • Building automation systems

    • Production support infrastructure

  • Monitor facility performance and respond to equipment failures, emergencies, and utility disruptions.

  • Coordinate troubleshooting efforts and ensure timely corrective actions.

  • Review and approve work orders for quality and completeness.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with:

    • OSHA regulations

    • NFPA standards

    • Environmental regulations

    • Flex safety policies

    • Lockout/Tagout requirements

    • Electrical safety programs

  • Conduct routine safety audits and facility inspections.

  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

  • Maintain compliance documentation and required records.

  • Support emergency preparedness and business continuity planning activities.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education or relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of facility or industrial maintenance experience.

  • Minimum 1 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience managing electricians, maintenance technicians, contractors, and service providers.

  • Experience with industrial utility systems and facility infrastructure.

Technical Knowledge

  • Electrical power distribution systems (480V/277V, 208V/120V).

  • HVAC and building automation systems.

  • Compressed air systems.

  • Fire alarm and fire suppression systems.

  • PLC-controlled equipment and industrial controls.

  • Preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

  • CMMS systems.

  • OSHA and NFPA requirements.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk extensive distances throughout the facility.

  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access elevated work areas.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in industrial environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.

  • Ability to respond to off-hours emergencies when required.
