Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Failure Analysis Engineer located in Guadalajara, Campus.
Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Failure Analysis Engineer role is responsible for diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving failures in complex electronic products through advanced troubleshooting techniques, functional testing, and root cause analysis. This role supports manufacturing operations by developing, validating, and improving functional test solutions while ensuring product quality, reliability, and process efficiency.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in electronics, microcontrollers, embedded systems, and programming, along with hands-on experience in debugging electronic assemblies and developing automated test solutions.
What a typical day looks like:
- Perform failure analysis on electronic assemblies, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and finished products.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electronic failures using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other laboratory equipment.
- Interpret electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, datasheets, and technical documentation.
- Develop, implement, and validate functional test solutions for new products and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies such as:
- 8D
- DMAIC
- 5 Why Analysis
- Fishbone Diagram
- Pareto Analysis
- Provide technical support to manufacturing operations for complex product and process issues.
- Analyze and debug microcontroller-based and embedded systems.
- Develop scripts, tools, and software applications to automate testing and data collection.
- Generate technical reports documenting failures, corrective actions, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Process Engineering teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including test development and validation.
- Create and maintain documentation, procedures, and standards related to troubleshooting and functional testing.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Automation, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Experience in Electronics Manufacturing
- Functional Test (FCT) Development & Validation
- Failure Analysis & Electronics Troubleshooting
- Hardware Validation
- Analog & Digital Electronics
- Embedded Systems & Microcontrollers
- UART, SPI, I2C, CAN
- Test Automation & Data Acquisition
- Board-Level Debugging
- Python, C/C++ or LabVIEW
- Experience supporting manufacturing test stations and diagnostic tools
