Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Senior Logistic Manager located in Bukit Minyak, Penang.

This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the logistics and supply chain operations within an EMS environment. This role ensures efficient movement of materials, components, and finished goods while maintaining cost-effectiveness, compliance, and on-time delivery to customers. The EMS Logistics Manager collaborates with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics providers to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What a typical day looks like:

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations, customs requirements, and industry standards.

  • Oversee proper documentation for import/export processes, including COO (Country of Origin), customs declarations, and trade agreements.

  • Maintain records for audits and ensure adherence to environmental and safety regulations.

  • Build strong relationships with logistics providers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to ensure seamless operations.

  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with shipping companies to achieve optimal cost and service.

  • Monitor carrier performance, ensuring on-time delivery and resolving any shipping issues.

Process Improvement & Technology Integration:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in logistics and supply chain management.

  • Leverage technology such as ERP, WMS, and TMS systems to enhance logistics visibility and efficiency.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance lead times, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor a logistics team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, planning, procurement, and customer service, to align logistics with business goals.
  • Develop KPIs and performance metrics to measure logistics efficiency and drive accountability.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management within an EMS or manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working with international shipping, customs regulations, and compliance.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations, transportation, warehousing, and distribution.

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and logistics software.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.

  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Certifications (Good to have):

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

  • Lean Six Sigma certification

  • Customs or trade compliance certification
