Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Senior Quote Project Manager (Position located in Guadalajara/Open to work from Flex sites located in Cd. Juarez and Aguascalientes) located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Director, Commercial Operations, the Sr. Quote Project Manager will contribute to the mission of the Global Quote Team that is to increase profitable revenue growth in Flex and to create value for our customers by working with other teams to consistently provide professional and competitive quotes in support of our strategic business initiatives and to continuously improve our tools and processes in support of our mission. 

What a typical day looks like:

  • Assist sales in defining the overall quote strategy. 
  • Ensure accurate, timely responses to customer quotations. 
  • Plan, implement, and oversee all activities related to the quotation process. 
  • Review, evaluate, and approve quotations for content and cost evaluation. 
  • Possess financial and P&L knowledge, as well as product costing knowledge. 
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing capabilities and can apply this knowledge to assure comprehensive solutions for quotation requirements.
  • Ensure that adequate resources are allocated to the quote activity. 
  • Coordinate quoting activity, including multi-site/multi-regional quotations. 
  • Facilitate communication and issue resolution with internal and external customers. 
  • Understand cost drivers and suggest improvements. 
  • Set-up and facilitate the kick-of call, follow-up calls and track all resulting activity.
  • Manage communication and information flow between sites, sales, regions, and customers. 
  • Keeps clear and accurate records of quotations and customer documentation. 
  • Receive, review, and distribute all quotation materials to the team. Understand the critical pieces of data needed to successfully complete a quote. Including bit not limited to reading BOMs, AVL and drawings (assembly, instructions, plastics, sheet metal, PCB, etc)
  • Responsible for data inputs that drive metrics such as, quote tracking log and business wins/losses, on time delivery, financials, etc.
  • Coordinate and collect all final quotation components. 
  • Produce final proposal documents. 
  • Act as the point of contact throughout the quotation process and overall management of the quotation. 
  • Monitor technology trends and make cost reduction recommendations. 
  • Manage relationships with external customers and internal departments. 
  • Liaise with Flex Sites, Business Development Managers, Global Account Managers, and senior management for pricing approval. 
  • Ensure specific requirements in quotations are met through communication with the customer. 

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
  • English advanced.
  • Proven experience / knowledge of quoting material components, manufacturing capabilities, financial analysis and product costing, including supervision and project management.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, interest and discounts.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents, drawings and financial P&Ls.  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management
