Part-Time Seasonal College and Post-Secondary Counselor (Remote)

Pay Range: $32–$38/hour (based on location, skills, and experience).

Are you passionate about guiding students through one of the most important transitions of their lives? Fusion Academy is seeking a Part-Time Seasonal College and Post-Secondary Counselor (PSC) to support students with college applications and post-secondary planning this fall—with the possibility of transitioning to full-time.

At Fusion, we're changing lives every day by working one-to-one with students to explore their futures and build strategic, personalized plans. Our ideal candidates are licensed school counselors, certified college counselors, or experienced college admission counselors who combine expertise with heart, empowering students and families with the personalized support they need to navigate the college admissions process with confidence.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide dynamic one-to-one virtual support to students through credit-bearing courses and non-credit-bearing post-secondary counseling sessions.
  • Mentor students in exploring a wide range of post-secondary options: 4-year universities, 2-year colleges, gap years, technical schools, apprenticeships, military, and direct-to-career pathways.
  • Use tools like SCOIR and YouScience to help students connect their strengths and interests to meaningful goals.
  • Review transcripts, GPAs, and academic records to advise students on admission strategies.
  • Guide college-bound students and families through the application process: application platforms (Common App, UC, CSU, ApplyTexas, CUNY/SUNY, Coalition), test prep planning, essay development, financial aid resources, and counselor recommendations.
  • Support non-college-bound students with resume building, interview preparation, and workforce readiness.
  • Collaborate with our nationwide team of PSCs, supporting 80+ Fusion Academy campuses across the U.S. and Fusion Global Academy.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in college counseling, admissions, or higher education.
  • Advanced degree (MA, MS, MEd, or higher) in School Counseling, Educational Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. college admissions, including multiple application platforms.
  • Familiarity with alternative post-secondary pathways (gap year, vocational, apprenticeships).
  • Experience working with neurodivergent students and/or students with learning differences is a strong plus.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and a strong communicator—capable of guiding students and families step by step through the college application process.
  • A warm, student-centered approach: proactive, empathetic, and entrepreneurial.
  • Strong ability to build trust and connection in a virtual counseling environment.
