Description

The Senior Video Editor is an expert at piecing together raw video footage into engaging and effective content for Marketing, Merchandising, and Social Media stakeholders. The editor is organized, resourceful, and self-motivated in creating original content, but also good at taking direction and working in a team environment. They are creative, but also possess a strong command of the editorial technical duties, such as logging, working with RAW files, light compositing, sound design and mixing, codecs, and compression. A normal day for them will involve a lot of multi-tasking while calmly dealing with tight deadlines. Finally, the Senior Video Editor stays up-to-date on visual and editing trends in the broadcast, advertising, and corporate video spaces.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attends pre-production video meetings for upcoming projects, asking clarifying questions with the intent of truly understanding the desired outcome
  • Reads script drafts to help flag any editorial issues
  • Imports and logs original camera footage
  • Edits video content based on an approved script and storyboard, using industry experience to improve the original ideas whenever possible
  • Quickly turns around revisions based on stakeholder feedback 
  • Effectively communicates the "why" behind creative decisions to key stakeholders   
  • Color corrects final video product, sometimes from flat RAW files
  • Creates a sound design for each video, including using natural sounds of working tools
  • Chooses music that matches each video's style and achieves the feeling a video is meant to evoke
  • Participates in the formal video review process, collecting and interpreting notes, asking follow-up questions where additional clarity is needed
  • Creates multiple versions of videos for length and/or social media platforms, including but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
  • Compresses final videos for dissemination, maximizing bitrate for any required codecs.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $78,100-$117,100 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree           
Years of Experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a lead video editor in a fast-paced video production environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in corporate, commercial, advertising, and/or television production is strongly preferred.
Skills
  • Must be fluent in the Adobe Creative Suite - Premiere Pro in particular.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Audition for creating radio ads and mixing final videos.
  • Experience using a Digital Asset Manager, such as Interplay or comparable systems.
  • Ability to design and create graphics as needed using Photoshop, with a basic working knowledge of After Effects.
  • Ability to provide working files for motion graphics animators.
  • Great organization habits and multitasking skills, managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to act and react professionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues within post-production workflows.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours with little or no notice.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be familiar with collaborative workflows and thrive in a structured, organized, multi-editor post-production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies into post-production workflows to improve creative output, efficiency, and scalability.
