BASIC FUNCTION HCSC is looking for a dynamic individual to join its Event Planning team! This position is responsible for assisting the department with the coordination and implementation of high quality, creative and cost-effective corporate meetings and events to include the execution of vendor relations, venue selection, contract negotiations, food and beverage selections, audio-visual service, transportation and any other tasks pertaining to the demand. Also, oversees cost reconciliation and makes periodic reports on activities and costs. Incumbent will interact with Corporate Tax, Audit, Corporate Communications and Community Relations on a regular basis and acts as corporate resource for general questions about venues and vendors. This role is hybrid/flex requiring in-office visibility. NOTE: relocation will not be offered, sponsorship either now or in the future will not be extended ~JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree OR 6 years of direct experience in corporate event planning and large scale executive events.
- Experience managing large-scale projects from initial conception to completion.
- Experience reviewing, negotiating and closing contracts.
- Must be well-organized and detail oriented; maintain a high sense of urgency and client focus; have on-the-spot crisis management skills, problem solving and a professional image.
- Clear and concise interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Relationship building and negotiating skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
- Willingness to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
- Self-directed, proactive and ability to work autonomously.
- Proficient in MS Office programs and with C-Vent event management platform.
- Working knowledge of current trends in the food & beverage and event planning industry.
- Established relationships with external event planners and external food & beverage industry professionals/vendors.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
- CMP (certified Management Planning) designation preferred.
- MPI or other industry affiliated membership association.
- Knowledge of Chicagoland restaurants and event venues.
- Experience planning incentive trips.

Compensation: $54,800.00 - $121,100.00
