Our Houston studio is currently seeking a Consulting intern to join our team this summer. This internship offers an exciting opportunity for students to gain practical, hands-on experience. You'll work on real-world projects, learn from and collaborate with talented professionals, and develop skills in a dynamic studio environment. During this internship, you will be responsible for working under the direction of a more senior team member to conduct research, organize materials, support project preparation, document project findings, maintain project files, and produce reports. HOK's Consulting teams work with clients to optimize and streamline real estate portfolios, facilities, and space. Our services fall under four main umbrellas: portfolio planning, facility strategy, workplace strategy, and change management. Assists with qualification packets and proposal preparation. Assembles boilerplate text and graphics; collects information on clients. Uses spreadsheets or databases to document space lists and client area requirements. Organizes project files for archiving. May produce and assemble consulting deliverables, including assisting with report writing, creating spreadsheets and producing graphics using word processing, spreadsheet and graphic computer applications. Participates in all long-distance learning (LDL) programs. May collect space utilization information from AutoCAD/Revit drawings. Processes quantitative and qualitative information received from clients. May participate in client meetings. Leverages new technology to collect or analyze information. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Currently enrolled in architecture, real estate, interiors, planning or related program. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: Knowledge and ability to use analytical and problem-solving techniques. Beginning to intermediate computer skills in computer software applications such as Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Graphics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
