Position Details:
The SVP of Accounting is a key member of the finance leadership team, responsible for overseeing the company’s US accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. This executive will provide strategic direction and leadership for all accounting functions, ensuring the company’s financial integrity and supporting its growth in a multi-country environment.
The SVP of Accounting partners closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and other senior leaders to support strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and global compliance. The Corporate Controller and the accounting organization report directly to this role. The SVP of Accounting is expected to bring deep expertise in leading large, complex, multinational accounting operations (>$1B revenue) and to mentor the current Corporate Controller as part of succession planning for this role.
Work Location: We are open to hiring a candidate within 2 hours of Scranton, PA or within the Atlanta, GA area. We are hiring for 1 position and this role is posted in both areas.

Leadership & Strategy
- Provide strategic oversight and direction for all US accounting operations, including general ledger, consolidation, tax accounting, treasury accounting, and financial reporting.
- Serve as a key advisor to the CFO and executive team on accounting implications of business strategies, mergers and acquisitions, and global expansion.
- Lead and mentor the Corporate Controller, with a focus on developing their capabilities for future senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, and policies to support a scalable, efficient finance function in a multi-country environment.
- Optimize cross functional (e.g. HR, Purchasing, etc.) processes to drive higher levels of support for the business.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting under U.S. GAAP and applicable international standards.
- Oversee preparation of all consolidated financial statements and related disclosures for external reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, and global regulatory standards.
- Maintain responsibility for global audit coordination and serve as the executive liaison with external auditors.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee accounting policy development and implementation across US operations.
- Provide executive oversight for the design and effectiveness of internal controls and risk management related to accounting functions.
- Collaborate with FP&A and business finance teams to ensure alignment of accounting with operational and strategic needs.
- Drive system improvements and leverage technology for automation and efficiency.
People & Organizational Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing global accounting team.
- Mentor all levels of the accounting team, preparing them for future growth within the organization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- 20+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including serving as a Corporate Controller or equivalent in a large, multi-country organization (>$1B revenue)
- Proven track record managing global accounting functions and teams across multiple jurisdictions
- Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and international accounting standards
- Demonstrated experience leading accounting transformation initiatives, systems implementations, and process improvements in complex organizations
- Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and geographies
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Experience with ERP transformations, particularly SAP
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence capabilities
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) experience
