Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.
What are we looking for?
The Environmental Staff Scientist will support the Environmental business by learning, conducting and Task-managing for Phase I ESAs, NEPA, and Phase II ESAs/Brownfield sites, There will also be potential to be involved with Wetland projects and Asbestos surveys/projects. This position should expect 10% travel as business needs dictate.
Shift/Schedule: Typically, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
What you'll do:
- Perform environmental services including Phase I and II environmental site assessments (ESAs), NEPA assessments, and others
- Assist in assessment and remediation and field work
- Potential for training and certification in asbestos surveys
- Perform industrial hygiene services to include assisting with indoor air quality assessments
- Ability to prepare technical proposal and reports
- Ability to communicate with clients and regulators to keep projects moving and on schedule
- Ability to self-manage and make decisions during all phases of a project

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field
- Strong technical proposal and report writing abilities
- Must be detail-oriented, and a team player with excellent communication, analytical, and organization, as well as time and budget management skills
- Must be computer literate and able to operate most field/office equipment relating to one's discipline
- Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
- Prior experience in environmental consulting preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
- Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
- Ability to climb occasionally
