Pollution & Safety Advisor
Intertek is searching for an Pollution & Safety Advisor to join our Caleb Brett team in our Hamilton, Ontario office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Operations!
The Pollution & Safety Advisor is responsible for Safe Vessel Operations while alongside client facilities.
What you'll do:
Inspection of dock prior to berthing. Ensure safe cargo transfer between terminal and vessel is carried out safely by clear communications and regular inspections onboard. Ensure all risk are addressed and mitigated. Ensure all safety regulations such as ISGOTT, OCIMF, etc. are followed.
What it takes to be successful in this role:
Hold a Masters License - Unlimited Tonnage, and shall have so served within no more than 10 years prior to being first appointed to act hereunder, or is currently accredited under the SIRE or CDI programs, or holds auditor status with the TMSA program, or has been a marine surveyor with government authorities or a surveyor with a classification society or actively engaged in a marine consultancy business providing similar service to the oil, mining or shipping companies or port authorities or governmental bodies, or has served as a marine or engineering superintendent for an oil, mining or shipping company.
Salary & Benefits Information
The base wage for this position is $63.91 hourly. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
