What are we looking for?

The Water Well Contractor who is licensed by either by the State of Florida as a Water Well Driller or who is licensed by Lee County as a Southwest Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Water Well Drilling Contractor. This person will be responsible for ensuring water wells are permitted, constructed, repaired, modified, and/or abandoned in compliance with state and local regulations.

What you'll do:

• Obtain all neccesary permits for constructing a well
• Follow specific standards during construction, including setback requirements from hazards and sources of contamination
• Ensure groundwater resources are protected during well construction that prevents contamination and ensures groundwater quality
• Handle and/or monitor the installation, repair, and modification of pumps and tanks for private potable water systems
• Facilitate incidental work, like electrical pump connections, connecting wells to residential dwellings, and building small pump houses

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Previous experience with the construction, modification, and/or abandonment of water wells in Southwest Florida is required
• State of Florida Water Well Drilling License and/or Lee County Southwest Florida Water Management District Water Well Contractor License required
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record is required

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred
• Experience with geotechnical and environmental drilling and sampling is preferred
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred
