JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Interface with executive and physician leadership.

• Develop and maintain moderate-to extremely complex computer programs using 4GL programming languages (such as SAS, R, SQL) and other database technology (DB2, Teradata, and Oracle).

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience: 
5+ years Experience in hospital, insurance, or related healthcare finance.

Minimum Skills: 
Knowledge of hospital decision support and EMR systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work autonomously.
Ability to translate clinical needs into financial terms and explain results to a non-financial audience.
Ability to anticipate and respond to rapid changes and industry shifts.
Strong commitment to high-quality deliverables, professional collaboration, and skill development.


Preferred Education: 
Bachelor's Degree    Accounting, Finance or related field is required or 10 years experience in financial role in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred Skills: 
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Tableau highly desired.
Understanding of healthcare coding systems (ICD-10-CM/PCS, UB-04, HCPCS, MS DRG, CPT, etc.).
Ability to write SQL and other coding languages a plus.
Familiarity with Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursement.
Experience with Strata financial suite.

Pay Transparency

The hourly rate range for this position is $84,365.00 - $138,330.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California Arcadia Hospital considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, State, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.


The Senior Decision Support Analyst bridges the gap between complex data and business strategy. The analyst will develop reporting tools, build predictive financial models, and lead cross-functional analysis to guide executive leadership. Responsibilities include mentoring junior analysts, ensuring data integrity, and translating data trends into actionable, strategic recommendations. As a subject matter expert, the analyst will analyze complex problems using patient-level financial and clinical data to support strategic hospital decision-making. The role will involve defining and executing a wide variety of analytical projects, anticipate client needs, establish project scope, identify data sources, translate data into polished deliverables, create dashboards correlating metrics to financial results, formulate business strategies, and present recommendations to executives.
