The Senior Manager, Ambulatory Ops Improvement & Digital Health oversees projects focused on driving operational improvement efforts as well as designs, directs, and implements the ambulatory digital strategy and roadmap. They will provide strategic guidance to teams and ambulatory stakeholders and will oversee the progress of program operations. They are responsible for management of the program, giving detailed attention to strategy, project delegation, and program implementation. The position also assists in the deployment of support tools and ensures that they are effectively used on an operational basis. Manage communication, program roll out and program facilitation as assigned. The Senior Manager, Ambulatory Ops Improvement and Digital Health leads and successfully implements initiatives aimed at improving care team efficiency, digital and virtual care strategy, optimization of technologies that support ambulatory access & growth, and supports the digitization of operations in a consumer centric approach. The Senior Manager also provides change management support for USC Care. The candidate will display leadership and sound organizational and analytical skills, while working collaboratively with operational and clinical leaders to improve operational performance as well as managing initiatives that facilitate business growth. The Senior Manager also leads the deployment of the Keck Operating System by developing strategy A3, KPIs, project-plan, visualization and huddles for areas the position is actively involved in. The scope of activities for the Senior Manager include the managing of special projects, including but not limited to the operationalization of new technologies and processes, strategic partnerships and programs (e.g., MIDI Health, KCMG), change management support for significant operational and financial initiatives, program and process development, creating collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, implementing lean design while developing business solutions with stakeholders, managing the integration of performance improvement projects in the organization and analyzing data obtained from numerous information systems and employ the judgment necessary to determine the accuracy and applicability of the conclusions.
Essential Duties:
- Leads and develops a team of process improvement and project management experts
- Demonstrate extensive process improvement, project management, and change management expertise (Lean Management or similar process improvement methodology, as well as Change Management Methodology) that supports meaningful process improvements, as well as ensuring the development and implementation of detailed project plans on time/budget, and inclusive input and engagement from internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
- Serve as a thought partner to USC Care leadership on consumer driven solutions with an emphasis on access and digital technology.
- Facilitates strategic decisions and provides leadership direction within the organization to optimize management of scope, financials and schedule as it impacts project execution.

- Partners with department leaders, process owners, and clinicians in the organization to create and develop project plans; drive results and revise plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements while maintaining linkage between projects, business needs and customer priorities.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- Oversees all aspects of the Telemedicine application and EHR/Cerner Integration including training, technology issue resolution, and operational solutions
- Demonstrates leadership and ability to establish constructive working relationships with members of departmental staff by performing duties in a cooperative and helpful manner.
- Coordinates the activities of the assigned departments with other departments both within and outside the hospital; Resolves problems with department heads concerning use of resources; Encourages and maintains open lines of communication with all project stakeholders.
- Skills in business modelling to air the creation and development of complex programs, analyzing information/situations, defining problems, articulating logical recommendations and recognizing alternatives and their implications.
- Leverage hospital data systems to review and analyze financial information for complex difficult and varied management needs.
- Leverages the Keck Operating System to drive programs by developing A3, KPIs, visualization, boards, huddles and area of support.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Required Qualifications:
- Req Bachelor's Degree Degree in a related field.
- Req Master's degree (MHA, MBA) Degree or equivalent degree.
- Req 5 years Experience leading process improvement efforts, using Lean Management or similar methodology, to improve clinical, operational, and financial performance in health care setting
- Req 5 years Progressive experience in a program/project management capacity
- Req Strategic planning and critical thinking skills for problem solving and identification of solutions.
- Req Proficiency of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management including tools and techniques (formal project planning, risk/issue management, governance, cost/benefit analysis, project change controls, etc.)
- Req Ability to facilitate working sessions with large, cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pref Experience with Microsoft Visio and Project
- Pref 2 years Supervisory experience
- Pref Specialty Certification Project Management Professional (PMP) or Change Management Certificate
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only).
The annual base salary range for this position is $95,680.00 - $158,230.00.
