We are seeking a highly skilled Workday Quality Engineer specializing in Workday HCM and Finance testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in both manual testing and test automation specifically within the Workday ecosystem.

In this role, you will lead validation efforts across Workday business processes, enhancements, integrations, and semiannual releases. You will design comprehensive test strategies, execute high‑value end-to-end scenarios, and contribute to automation frameworks that support regression testing and release readiness.

 

Key Responsibilities

Workday HCM & Finance Functional Testing

- Develop and execute test plans, scenarios, and scripts for Workday HCM and Finance modules.

- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across Workday business processes.

- Validate Workday business processes, configuration, security, condition rules, and reporting logic.

- Support testing of Workday integrations including EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, PECI, and vendor interfaces.

- Partner with SMEs to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

 

Test Automation

- Design, automate, and maintain test scripts using Workday Test Automation (WTA) or tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.

- Identify automation candidates and integrate automation into regression pipelines.

- Expand automation coverage to improve efficiency.

 

Quality Engineering Activities

- Document test results and coverage using ADO and other Test Management Tools.

- Conduct API and integration testing.

- Manage defect lifecycle including logging, triage, retest, and verification.

- Support Workday semiannual updates with risk analysis and regression testing.

- Assist with UAT coordination and execution.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with Workday analysts, configuration teams, developers, and business owners.

- Promote shift-left testing through early involvement.

- Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues clearly.

 

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

- 5+ years of QA/testing experience, including 3+ years focused on Workday.

- Hands-on experience testing Workday HCM and/or Finance modules.

- Workday certification preferred.

- Experience with Workday test automation. Strong manual testing and test design skills.

- Experience validating Workday integrations and configurations.

- Familiarity with Git and programming languages.

- Strong analytical and communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Workday reporting, calculated fields, and security testing.

- SQL skills for data validation.

- Agile/Scrum experience.

- Exposure to enterprise platforms like Bullhorn.

- Experience with API testing tools.

 

Base pay rate for this position is $40.00 - $60.00 per hour.  Final annual compensation will be based on experience and may vary by geographic location.
