Job Title: Project Event Assistant (3-Month Contract)
Location: Houston, TX 77087 Southeast 
Compensation: $20/hour
Schedule: 30 hrs per week mon-fri
Contract Duration: 3 Months

About the Role

We are   seeking a dedicated Project Event Assistant to support our team in preparation for the 2025 event season. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is looking to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development and event planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support for development and event staff (calls, copying, mailing, inventory tracking, etc.)

  • Assist with pre-event logistics: organize and pack materials, prepare transport vehicles, and manage supply kits

  • Support on-site event execution: set-up and break-down, staffing stations, and troubleshooting as needed

  • Serve as a liaison to event vendors and participants, ensuring high-quality customer service

  • Conduct outreach to past and current team captains to encourage re-engagement and fundraising

  • Reach out to local organizations (colleges, senior living communities, clubs, athletic groups, etc.) to promote 

  • Attend local fundraising events as a representative of the organization

Qualifications
  • Strong customer service and communication skills (phone, email, in-person)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask with minimal supervision

  • Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment

  • Passion for community engagement and nonprofit work
