Description

Employment: Contract – 3 months  

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7AM to 3PM 

Pay Rate: $20/hr 

Summary of responsibilities: The Mechanical Assembler 2 is responsible for assembling subassemblies and finished products, ensuring quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, perform functional tests, and maintain safety and 5S standards in a fast-paced production environment. Assemblers at this level also mentor less experienced employees and demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude with proven assembly experience. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Assemble subassemblies and finished products using hand tools, power tools, and machinery. 

  • Interpret and work from assembly drawings, instructions, and production boards. 

  • Perform operating tests and quality checks to meet specifications. 

  • Lubricate, align, and adjust assemblies for proper operation. 

  • Maintain accurate production records and package finished products with documentation. 

  • Support and train less experienced employees, mentoring on proper assembly and safety practices. 

  • Participate in team meetings, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement activities. 

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, following 5S practices. 

Must-haves:  

  • 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing assembly environment. 

  • Proven mechanical aptitude with hands-on assembly experience. 

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications. 

  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and production machinery. 

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills. 

  • Basic math and computer skills. 

  • Consistent attendance and ability to work scheduled overtime. 

  • Must have steel-toed boots 

  • Must have their own tools.  

Nice-to-Haves 

  • Experience assembling conveyor or automation equipment. 

  • Leadership experience or mentoring background. 

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement/lean manufacturing practices. 

  • High school diploma or GED.
