Job Title: Assembly Technician III
Location: 3680 Center View Drive Suite 100 Chantilly VA 20151
Duration: 4+  Months (temp to hire)
Shift: 2nd shift (2:30 pm – 11:30pm)
Pay Rate: $26.53/hrs. on w2


Note: Need to train on first shift then move to 2nd shift

Job Description:

  • The Assembly Technician works closely with the production team to ensure high-quality standards and timely completion of assembly tasks.

Job Responsibilities:
Component Assembly:
  • Perform assembly operations using hand tools, power tools, and various machinery as required. Read and interpret assembly instructions, blueprints, and diagrams to ensure accurate and precise assembly of components.
Quality Control:
  • Inspect and verify the quality of assembled components and finished products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications.
  • Identify and report any defects or non-conformities to the supervisor for further action.
Testing and Troubleshooting:
  • Conduct functional tests on assembled products to verify proper operation and identify any potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions, making necessary adjustments or repairs as needed.
Inventory Management:
  • Maintain an organized inventory of components, parts, and tools necessary for the assembly process.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate with the procurement team to request replenishments when needed.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with machinery, tools, and potentially hazardous materials.
  • Follow all applicable regulations and standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Accurately record assembly activities, test results, and any relevant data or observations.
  • Generate reports and update production records to maintain accurate documentation.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality in the assembly department.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share the best practices and contribute to overall operational excellence.
Equipment Maintenance:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on assembly equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning and prevent downtime.
  • Report any equipment issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team for timely repairs.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Skills:
  • Technical certification or vocational training in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in assembly work or a related manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with various hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to follow precise instructions and work with attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and electronic components is advantageous. Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot assembly issues effectively.
  • Good time management and organizational skills to meet production deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and communicate effectively.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 1year of related experience.
  • Will be required to obtain IPC-A-610 certification within 6 months of hire.
