Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking an Associate Scientist position near Northbrook, IL.

Contract (~6 months)
Shift:
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Compensation: $35/hr - $45/hr DOE


Job Summary: The Associate Scientist – DT & OMS plays a crucial role in all stages of product development. This position involves participating in and coordinating the transfer of new product designs to manufacturing, from the early stages of development through implementation, and providing on-market support post-launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute day-to-day laboratory activities, which include independently planning, scheduling, and conducting experiments, recording and analyzing experimental data, and maintaining laboratory notebooks.
  • Assist with managing departmental projects.
  • Collaborate with R&D and subject matter experts to successfully transfer new product designs, including developing product requirements and specifications.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless transfer of new products.
  • Develop and validate QC test methods and release specifications.
  • Engage in on-market product investigations, conducting non-conformance investigations and participating in CAPA processes.
  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis.
  • Perform engineering and document change control activities.
  • Draft standard operating procedures, study protocols, reports, and other documentation with minimal guidance.
  • Present data individually to supervisors and in departmental meetings.
  • Contribute to manufacturing process improvement efforts and the development of process automation strategies.
  • Maintain general laboratory organization.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in biological/chemical sciences preferred with 2 years of laboratory experience in molecular biology or biotechnology
  • Work Experience:
    • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a molecular biology lab conducting equipment and data analysis (Required).
    • Knowledge of laboratory methods like PCR, gel electrophoresis, database analyses, specimen handling, and experimental documentation (Required).
    • Previous work experience in a GLP/GMP laboratory (Preferred).
    • Exposure to CAPA investigations and management (Preferred).
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Proficiency in meeting tight deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Proven time management and prioritization skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
