NOW HIRING: Billing Clerk
Location: Avon, CT 06001
Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Monday–Friday)
Position Type: Temp to Hire
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Billing Clerk to join our Billing Department in Avon, CT. This position plays a key role in supporting the billing operations of the organization by accurately posting payments, maintaining account statements, releasing invoices, and reconciling account discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

This role also involves interacting with a member base consisting largely of retirees, requiring excellent communication skills, patience, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Post payments accurately and promptly into the billing system.

  • Update and maintain account statements and billing records.

  • Release invoices and reconcile any discrepancies.

  • Resolve account issues with professionalism and accuracy.

  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with members by phone and email.

  • Navigate internal databases and web-based tools efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of billing activity.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to verify and update billing information.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in billing, accounting, or a related administrative support role preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.

  • Comfortable working with a retiree population and demonstrating patience and professionalism.

  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Additional Information:
  • Lunch Policy: Lunch is unpaid. Employees may take a 30- or 60-minute break, resulting in 7 to 7.5 hours of work per day (35–37.5 hours/week).

  • Paid Lunch Benefit: Optional meal delivery through DineIn Connecticut. The company covers up to $20.00 per lunch. Employees may pay the difference if the order exceeds this amount.
