Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Onsite in Fargo, ND
Employment Type: Permanent, Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Standard Business Hours
Salary: $50,000 annually (may be slightly flexible depending on experience)
About the RoleWe're seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations for a well-established, mission-driven nonprofit arts organization in the Fargo–Moorhead area. This role suits someone with strong accounting knowledge and organizational skills. You'll be essential in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and ensuring GAAP compliance.
Key Responsibilities-
Process and reconcile daily financial transactions

Monitor donations, sales, and incoming revenue

Manage payroll, correct time punches, track PTO, and generate payroll reports

Assist with budgeting and prepare monthly financial statements

Track and report budget variances

Monitor bank and credit card accounts; manage petty cash

Pay invoices, issue checks, and process reimbursements

Prepare quarterly and annual tax and gaming reports

Maintain financial records and ensure GAAP compliance

Support external audits and annual tax preparation

Renew licenses, subscriptions, and certifications

Handle HR paperwork and employment verifications

Track fixed assets and manage accounting supplies

Provide financial reporting and administrative support to leadership

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent experience)

Strong understanding of bookkeeping and GAAP

Proficiency in QuickBooks is required

Experience in a nonprofit or small business environment is a plus
