Job Title: CNC Operator (Part-Time Evenings)
Position Type: Part-Time
Location: Grand Forks, ND, US
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 5 PM – 9 PM (Possible Friday afternoon/evening shifts)
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience

Position Summary
Join a dedicated manufacturing team as a CNC Operator, focusing on the preparation and operation of waterjet and/or laser cutting equipment. This position is responsible for loading and unloading materials/parts, running pre-programmed projects, and collaborating regularly with the CNC supervisor and production team to ensure efficiency and quality. Core Roles

  • Fabricate components in accordance with drawings and specifications
  • Complete fabrication tasks per production schedules
  • Ensure quality standards are met
  • Perform regular equipment maintenance
  • Accurately enter data for ERP reporting
Key Job Functions
  • Follow all safety procedures when operating CNC equipment.
  • Load and unload materials using tools or with team assistance.
  • Assist in improving safety and efficiency on the production floor.
  • Monitor operations and suggest ways to reduce waste.
  • Accurately report labor and material usage to the supervisor.
  • Recommend ways to improve material selection and project setups.
  • Perform machine maintenance and inspections as needed.
  • Ensure spare parts are available to prevent downtime.
  • Report and log any scrap material.
  • Complete other assigned tasks as needed.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office applications
  • Previous experience in CNC programming and part nesting
  • Experience operating CNC machines (waterjet or laser preferred)
  • Ability to use overhead cranes and a variety of measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, scales)
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools for equipment maintenance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of CNC programming
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D fabrication drawings
  • Experience with digital file manipulation for CNC cutting operations
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move sheet materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, or as part of a team
  • Capable of lifting and walking with loads up to 50 lbs
