Kelly is hiring for a Coil Laboratory Technician for one of our top clients in Garland, TX.

  • Dayshift position. (the schedule can be a little flexible with a start time. Workers must stay until all their tasks are finished so the end time may change slightly).
  • Pay: $19/hr
  • 6 month temporary/contract (possibility of extension)
  • All PPE is provided.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have good computer skills.
The Coil Lab Tech performs basic technical tests on products and samples. Primary responsibility will be preparing, filling, and shipping color panel requests.  Other responsibilities may include preparing and analyzing materials and samples, performing basic calculations, and cleaning and maintaining the lab. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
  • Clean, maintain, and calibrate standard equipment and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Complete appropriate forms and documentation regarding tasks and requests; receive direction from other technicians or chemists on specialized or complex issues.
  • Perform basic calculations to prepare, perform, and conclude samples.
  • Perform basic technical tests and analyses based on formulas and project requirements; tasks are more standard and require limited judgment within established guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Prepare basic samples, materials, equipment, and other required tools for laboratory tests or development.
  • Perform coating Coil application. 
  • Perform packaging and shipment of customer samples. 

Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory Skills
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills
  • Computer knowledge for basic inputting, communication, and data analysis
Desired Skills
  • Microsoft Office
  • Cyberchrome Color Software

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, and other conditions found in laboratory environments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Positions in this class typically require reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to climb stairs multiple times a day, and file and remove cans of paint from elevated shelves using the stair ladder.
  • Fast-Paced environment with daily incoming requests to process.
