Position: Controls Engineer
Location: Fenton, MO
Classification: Salary - Exempt
Overview:
Join our dynamic team as a Controls Engineer and play a vital role in advancing projects involving process control, electrical engineering, and troubleshooting. You'll engage with challenging tasks that contribute to the development and success of our technical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop technical aspects of assigned projects, including conducting feasibility studies and cost estimation.
- Design system architectures using PLC/HMI/DCS, I/O, networks, and computer infrastructure.
- Create electrical control panel designs and schematics.
- Specify and design instrumentation.
- Develop and implement PLC programs.
- Program and support robotics systems.
- Design and develop HMI/SCADA applications and screens.
- Build and maintain assembly and test equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and team members to ensure projects meet scope, budget, and schedule expectations.
- Maintain clear communication with project managers about progress, risks, and costs.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and vendor offerings to recommend solutions aligned with business needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred; applicable work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Solid understanding of process control principles, PLC programming, robotic programming, HMI/SCADA development, and industrial network communication protocols.
- Experience in electrical control systems design and schematics development is a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex control systems and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to work independently and manage multiple project priorities effectively.
- Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new technologies and industry trends.
