Join our dynamic team in Switz City as a Corn Sorter for the upcoming seasonal harvest! This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the agricultural process while working in a fast-paced environment.

- Competitive pay rate: $17.00/hr
- Weekly schedule includes three 12-hour days and one 6-hour day (42 hours/week)
- Shift options:
- Front half team: Sunday–Tuesday 6:00 AM–6:30 PM & Wednesday 6:00 AM–12:00 PM
- Back half team: Wednesday 12:00 PM–6:00 PM & Thursday–Saturday 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
What's a typical day as a Corn Sorter? You'll be:
- Sorting corn cobs to maintain high-quality seed and reduce foreign material in the drying process
- Removing discard (waste, damaged ears, etc.) and ensuring only undamaged seeds continue
- Identifying off-type, immature, moldy, or insect-damaged ears and sorting them appropriately
- Assisting with cleaning kernels when materials change
- Keeping the workspace clean by sweeping and removing debris as needed
This job might be a great fit if you have:
- Ability to work quickly with hands while standing or seated for extended periods
- Comfortable with elevated seating and working from a moving conveyor belt
- Willingness to walk up and down stairs and stand for prolonged times
- Comfortable with potential exposure to plant allergens (including corn dust); airborne allergy warning applies
- If motion sickness is an issue, watching a moving belt may aggravate symptoms
Additional Details:
- Dress code: Long pants, closed toe/heel shoes, shirt covering shoulders (no loose clothing)
- PPE: Safety glasses and gloves provided (over-the-glasses safety glasses, not prescription)
- Must abide by seatbelt and mobile phone policies on site; food/drink not allowed in working area
- Smoking and vaping prohibited—smoke-free workplace
- Regular and reliable attendance is required
