Location: Denver, PA
Pay Rate: $24.60 per hour
Schedule:

2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM OR
-
3rd Shift: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
(Two mandatory Saturdays per month)

Position SummaryThe Extruder Operator is responsible for safely operating continuous vulcanization (CV) extrusion equipment to produce high-quality wire and cable products that meet precise production and quality standards. This position plays a key role in maintaining consistent output and equipment performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities-
Set up and operate CV extrusion machines, including stringing wire, checking proper tip, die, and print wheel setup, and managing the accumulator and payoff reel.

Verify and monitor input materials such as compounds, color concentrate, and tapes.

Start up and shut down high-pressure steam line generators as required.

Set up and monitor ink printers to ensure proper labeling and identification.

Perform re-reeling and/or barrel packing of finished products, wrapping reels, and loading onto skids.

Conduct basic maintenance on CV equipment and promptly report mechanical or quality issues.

Maintain accurate production and quality records, submitting all required paperwork.

Safely operate forklifts/tow motors for material handling as needed.

Follow all safety, housekeeping, and environmental policies and procedures.

Perform additional duties as assigned and work overtime as needed.
Education:
-
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience & Skills:
-
Prior experience in a manufacturing or extrusion environment preferred.

Ability to read and interpret manufacturing orders, simple blueprints, and technical instructions.

Proficiency in basic shop math and use of precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers).

Ability to set up, adjust, and operate production machinery safely and efficiently.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality and safety standards.
Additional Requirements:

Must meet attendance requirements and be willing to work mandatory overtime as scheduled.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, dust, and noise.
