Extrusion Technician 2 – Irvine, CA
KellyBPO, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is seeking an Extrusion Technician II for a long-term position with one of our Global Clients based in Irvine, CA.
This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, 401k, and paid time off.

Pay: $28hr minimum; plus benefits and PTO
Hours: M-F first shift
Duration: long term
Responsibilities:
- Work from blueprints, drawings, models, and/or sketches, fabricates prototype components for new products.
- Analyze design specifications to determine programming requirements, equipment adjustments, and material requirements.
- Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction
- Ability to work with engineers and other related fields to produce desired tooling, fixtures, castings, or parts.
- Ability to build relationships with vendors and order materials from suppliers.
- Set up and activate machine - performs program editing as applicable per design requirements.
- Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
- Trouble shoots equipment and/or material issues, works with suppliers to repair equipment as needed.
- Measures finished work piece features against design requirements to determine accuracy of machine operation adjusts/modifies as needed.
- Creates, and runs appropriate programs.
- Exemplifies a high degree of safety during work in process.
- When applicable, follows standard operating procedures for all tasks.
- Maintains clean and orderly work area.
- Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level
- Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Performs other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- 2-5 years or more related experience with braiders, laminators, and extrusion equipment.
- Must have good to excellent organizational skills.
- Must be thorough and detail oriented.
- Must be able to successfully complete company/department training courses in manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to learn regulatory GMP requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Must have basic reading, writing and communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hand and arms.
- The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
- Weekend and overtime work may be required
- Position required to work with a variety of manufacturing equipment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level is often loud. Hearing and eye protection must be worn at all times while performing job duties
- Safety shoes must be worn at all times while performing job duties
