Type: Contract (1+ year)
Location: Bellevue, WA
Hourly Pay Range: $41.25-$48.75 (based on level of experience)

*MUST have the ability to travel extensively (70-80% ~250 days/year) throughout the US and internationally*

We're seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to lead commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of water treatment plants worldwide. What You'll Do:

  • Commission water treatment plants, ensuring process equipment and control systems operate flawlessly according to specifications.
  • Act as the construction liaison between design engineering and construction teams during the erection of water treatment facilities.
  • Provide expert technical instruction and support to customer representatives on installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at client sites.
  • Manage activities of outside vendors and suppliers, guaranteeing services and supplies meet project standards.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and log sheets to monitor equipment performance.
  • Create and implement commissioning schedules and performance plans.
  • Deliver classroom and hands-on training on operation and maintenance of process equipment.
  • Participate in model reviews, engineering design meetings, and safety reviews to ensure equipment accessibility and operability.
  • Conduct factory acceptance tests for control systems with clients and designated representatives.
  • Perform after-market services including site inspections, equipment assessments, and operator training.
  • Maintain a strong safety focus consistent with client's safety standards.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and analysis for customer records.
  • Apply mathematical and chemical principles for water treatment processes and troubleshooting.
  • Diagnose alignment issues, plumb adjustments, and control system activities, including PLC/HMI functions and logic troubleshooting.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma with at least 5 years of experience in water treatment.
  • Proven ability to commission, troubleshoot, and maintain water treatment systems.
  • Strong knowledge of process equipment, control systems, mathematical operations, and chemistry.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, control system logic, and PLC/HMI activities.
  • Effective communication skills for technical training and customer interaction.
  • Physical ability to handle site demands, including lifting up to 25 pounds and outdoor work.
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with control system programming and troubleshooting (ladder logic, function blocks).
  • Knowledge of control system IO checkout, system networking, and program upload/download.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in international site environments.
  • Multilingual abilities and international working experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in water treatment or related technical roles.
  • Prior experience working abroad or in remote working camps is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel internationally to oversee project sites, including remote and outdoor locations.
  • Ability to adapt to different working environments and safety protocols.
  • Certifications related to water treatment, control systems, or safety standards are a plus.
