Employment: 6 months with a chance of permanency  

Shift: Day Shift | 7:45 AM to 5:15PM | Monday to Friday | Remote 

Pay Rate: $20/hr 

 

Summary of Responsibilities:  

The Tax Compliance Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing exceptional inbound phone support to taxpayers regarding individual and business tax compliance issues. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced call center environment. Agents will review taxpayer accounts, educate callers on available resources, document interactions, and resolve Tier 1 inquiries while upholding state and federal standards 

Responsibilities:  

  • Handle inbound customer calls related to individual and business tax compliance, delinquency, and general inquiries. 

  • Provide professional and courteous service to taxpayers while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. 

  • Resolve Tier 1 issues efficiently while documenting actions across multiple systems. 

  • Review and verify taxpayer accounts; gather and update information in real time. 

  • Educate taxpayers on online self-service options and current tax policies. 

  • Process and submit payment arrangement requests following departmental guidelines. 

  • Maintain performance standards including call quality, productivity, and accuracy. 

  • Participate in team engagement activities and continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Follow established procedures and adhere to state and federal compliance regulations. 

  • Work in a fully remote setting with high accountability for attendance and dependability. 

Must-haves:  

  • Minimum 1 year of recent call center experience (finance, insurance, or telecom preferred). 

  • Strong multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace. 

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). 

  • High school diploma or GED. 

Skills Desired/Preferred:  

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish. 

  • Associate degree or higher. 

  • Experience in banking or financial services. 

  • Prior involvement in process improvement initiatives. 

  • Demonstrated longevity in previous roles (1+ year per position)..
