1. QUALIFICATIONS:  
   1. Minimum education required for competent performance:
      • BS Degree in applicable field

• 2+ years of experience in measurement sciences & test method development
  1. Minimum experience (number of month/years and type of work experience beyond formal education) required for competent performance:
     • 2-4 years of experience preferred, 1-2 years of sun care formulation testing preferred eg Labsphere
     • Lab experience and measurement science is a must-have
     • Experience in Analytical AOX assays preferred
• Able to test formulations to screen new technologies
• Process and analyze data from the measurements
• Able to execute experiments independently
• Manage laboratory samples
• Execute physical testing of samples, competitive analysis
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks/deliverables
• Adhere to safety procedures of laboratory
• Working knowledge of standard instrumentation (pH meter, viscometer, microscope, etc.)
• Knowledge within various disciplines (e.g. emulsions, serums, gels, dispersions, surfactant systems) and familiarity with skin biology and active ingredient functions
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

 

1. JOB GOAL:
   The Scientist will support and be responsible for laboratory related activities for a broad range of consumer products for sun care. The successful candidate will work under the guidance and mentorship of a more experienced PPI Scientist to perform product development and measurement/testing activities. The Assistant Scientist will maintain current knowledge and will adhere to Kenvue procedures.

1. Support product testing activities under guidance:
2. Execute Analytical/AOX assays and experiments
3. Model solution/formulation tests to screen new technologies
4. Data Analysis
5. Supports accurate record keeping and documentation
6. Analyze test results compared to specifications/protocols/benchmark
7. Create/Revise specifications
8. Order specific raw materials from specific suppliers and organize per project
9. Log RM samples into CMS system.
10. Keep work area organized and clean
11. Follow GLP procedures
