Position Overview:
The QC Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of the company's diagnostic laboratory operations. This position supports laboratory excellence by overseeing critical materials, monitoring environmental conditions, and ensuring adherence to ISO13485, CLIA, and internal quality standards. The QC Specialist will work cross-functionally with teams to maintain a commitment to precision, reliability, and positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material & Reagent Management:

  • Quarantine and release incoming and in-house critical materials, ensuring they meet established quality standards.
  • Manage reagent and consumable inventory levels, placing orders to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.
  • Compliance & Documentation:

  • Maintain and review records for equipment installation, maintenance, and environmental monitoring (e.g., temperature and humidity).
  • Collaborate with QA and management to ensure compliance with ISO13485 and CLIA standards.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain SOPs, forms, and logs to reflect current laboratory processes and compliance needs.
  • Provide documentation support during internal and external audits.
  • Quality Control Oversight:

  • Review QC data for accuracy and compliance with laboratory protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Investigate environmental deviations or process discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct and review validation testing for spreadsheets, software, and laboratory workflows.
  • Collaborate with Data Management and other departments to ensure data accuracy and alignment with quality standards.
  • Operational Excellence:

  • Act as a liaison between QC, QA, and laboratory staff to meet deadlines and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and reduce errors.
  • Assist in periodic reviews of laboratory practices and documentation to align with changing requirements.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
    • 1-4+ years of laboratory or QC experience in a regulated environment, ideally under ISO13485 and CLIA standards.
    • Proficiency in laboratory operations, including equipment monitoring and reagent management.
    • Experience with LCMS analysis.
    • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with LIMS is a plus.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience in diagnostic laboratories or biotech environments.
    • Familiarity with validation processes for laboratory instruments and software.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across departments.
