Job Title: Heading Operator
Location: Winsted, CT 06098
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $22.50 per hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Heading Operator to join our team in Winsted, CT. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing product to meet specific specifications and schedules, operating and maintaining thermal equipment, and ensuring quality control throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process product according to specifications, including cleaning, weighing/counting, and adhering to provided schedules.

  • Operate induction heater and box furnace for hot forged products, ensuring thermal equipment and instrumentation are properly calibrated and chart recorders are functioning correctly.

  • Utilize and maintain insulated containers, as required.

  • Ensure the proper selection and release of raw materials and verify wire/rod size.

  • Confirm that raw material heat matches the manufacturing router specifications.

  • Set up, operate, and adjust headers; perform tooling sharpening and polishing as needed.

  • Conduct in-process inspections, including dimensional measurements, visual inspections, and ball weight verification.

  • Accurately report processing information on routers and process log sheets.

  • Perform assigned repairs and preventive maintenance tasks as required.

  • Ensure inspection and processing equipment is properly calibrated before use.

  • Plot results on control charts when necessary.

  • Maintain items within the Tooling Control Program.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications and schedules.

  • Ability to operate and maintain specialized thermal equipment.

  • Basic understanding of quality control processes and inspection methods.

  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment.
