Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Harrisburg, NC
Status: Full-time | Hourly
Compensation: $30–$35 per hour
Sign-On Bonus: $500 after 90 days of employment
Shifts: 12-hour rotating shifts (2-2-3 schedule)
Hours: 7 AM – 7 PM OR 7 PM – 7 AM
Benefits: Full benefits package including health insurance, 401k match, and paid time off
A long-standing industrial operation in Harrisburg, NC that specializes in corrosion-resistant metal coating services for infrastructure, utility, and construction applications is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic. This facility operates continuously, requiring a technician who can maintain and repair complex equipment to keep production moving efficiently and safely.
Position Overview:This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems in a high-speed, heavy industrial setting. Candidates must be capable of working independently, managing multiple tasks, and responding quickly to equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities:-
Perform maintenance and repairs on plant equipment to ensure continuous operation

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems (up to 480V)

Install and relocate motors, electrical panels, and control systems

Conduct preventative maintenance based on schedules and operational needs

Operate forklifts and man lifts; work safely at elevated heights for extended periods

Lead or support equipment-related maintenance projects

Maintain accurate records and follow manufacturer guidelines for repairs

Perform building and grounds maintenance as needed

Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards

Identify and report equipment failures, safety concerns, and process issues

Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment

Comfortable working with voltages up to 480V

Skilled in reading schematics and using diagnostic tools such as multi-meters
-
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Proficient with shop equipment (e.g., drill press, grinders, threading machines)

Basic welding ability

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and multitasking skills

Must have own set of tools

Team-oriented with effective communication and reporting skills

Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and accountability

High school diploma or GED
-
Prior experience in galvanizing or metal treatment facilities

Familiarity with 3-phase motors, compressors, overhead cranes, and hoists

Experience working rotating or extended shifts

At least one year of experience operating an overhead crane
