Maintenance Superintendent
Location: Wabash, IN
Salary: $100,000 to $125,000 DOE

SUMMARY: Responsible for providing the leadership, vision, direction, and resources to effectively manage the Maintenance functions. Mentors, assists, and advises all Plant Personnel in all aspects of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). Develops processes and implements activities at the operating level to achieve effective and efficient use of all assets and personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
• Manage, direct, develop, and supervise activities and initiatives to provide a safe work environment through the proper use of equipment, identification of hazards, sharing of knowledge and the development, implementation and enforcement of safety and housekeeping standards.
• Responsible for all Maintenance equipment, its run-ability, maintenance, upkeep, testing and compliance federal, state and OSHA guidelines
• Maintains a clear focus and has a complete understanding of the backlog in each area as well as the opportunities impacting machine speed uptime and reliability 
• Manages and directs the activities and responsibilities of all direct reports
• Develop format of routine operational performance reporting and standardize throughout the facility
• Develop requisite Preventive and Predictive Maintenance plans through Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) recommendations, industry standards, and use of Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA)
• Plan and establish the master schedule and priorities for Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs for the facility.
• Drives standard work through all areas of the Maintenance Department
• Monitors progress of on-going jobs and projects to ensure they are completed on-time and in line with job specifications
• Conducts root cause analyses and formation of corrective action plans to solve operational problems
• Assists maintenance supervisors in investigating, diagnosing, and evaluating major equipment malfunctions and develop methods and procedures to improve operating efficiency of equipment
• Supervises and provides direction and support to Maintenance salaried and hourly employees
• Develops life cycle costs and standard rotation of tooling based on usage, OEM recommendations, and PM/PdM recommendations
• Develops a Tool Room SOP to include routine operations, tool preparation, tool rotation, tool PM/PdM, required spares and SMED processes
• Develops a required inventory of spares supporting the prioritization matrix of assets developed
• Determines current availability of spare parts and inventory associated parts

REQUIREMENTS
• BSME, BSEE, or comparable degree with a minimum 5 years' experience or 10-15 years of progressively responsible maintenance experience. 
• Eighteen months of education and training beyond high school level in general maintenance and repair, or a closely related area.
• Skilled in PM/PdM (preventative and predictive maintenance)
• Experienced in FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Experienced in utilizing CMMS systems
• Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance techniques
• Familiar with project management skills and knowledgeable in use of project management software
• Knowledgeable in the theory and use of vibration analysis 
• Knowledgeable in the theory and application of lubrication technology, analysis, and management.
• Able to utilize the practical applications of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, 
techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of goods and services
• Able to use design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models 
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Able to apply physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics, and mechanical, electrical processes
