Maintenance Supervisor – Romeoville, IL
Pay: $90,000 – $110,000 Salary
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead second-shift operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a working leader who mentors by example — someone willing to grab tools, troubleshoot equipment, and keep the team productive.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance mechanics while enforcing safety, GMP, SQF, and company standards
- Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations
- Troubleshoot and support 110/230/460V electrical systems including motors, starters, VFDs, and PLCs
- Ensure reliability of production equipment and facility utilities (electrical, gas, compressed air, heat systems)
- Manage maintenance inventory, parts control, and work order follow-through across shifts
- Maintain financial discipline by monitoring maintenance spending and supporting budget goals
- Coordinate closely with Production, QA, and other department leaders
- Ensure mechanics remain productive and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years mechanical and electrical experience in food manufacturing
- Supervisory or lead experience in a maintenance environment
- Working knowledge of PLC troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of USDA, OSHA, GMP, and food safety standards
- Ability to communicate effectively and think logically under pressure
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Willingness to work weekends or adjust days off during peak season
- Must supply own hand tools
