Material Handler / Heavy Labor Associate (Food Manufacturing) – 12-Hour Shifts

Pay: 15.00–16.00/hr (22.50/hr - 24.00/hr OT)
Location: Lynwood area, IL
Job Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire (Kelly Services | 3–6 months with opportunity to hire on)
Shift Options: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM OR 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Schedule: Mon–Thu (12-hour shifts) + Fri/Sat overtime as needed
Start: ASAP (once requirements are completed)

From the desk of your recruiter: This is high-output food manufacturing (pizza/dough production). The work is laborious (50 lbs + lifted 8-12 times per hours; for 8 -12 hours) pace is nonstop and expectations are tight. If you show up early (no missed/ late days within first 30 days of employment), follow GMP rules (Steel toed boots/ shoes required, no piercings, jewelry, ripped jeans, no hats or hoodies), and learn fast, you can do well here. You must love overtime. Due to high production needs this site requires mandatory overtime quite often. This position may require that you assist in other areas such as Quality Assurance and/ or Production as needed. Please be ready to step-up and assist.

What To Look Forward To
• Plenty of overtime available, with pay at 1.5X your normal rate after 40 hours 
• Weekly payouts every Friday or before (depending on bank and ACH type)
• This is a role that hires people right in the community of Lynnwood/ Chicago Heights so no far travel

What You'll Do
• Pack and stage food-grade product (dough) into drums/containers; wrap to spec
• Move product consistently, lifting up to 50 lb containers and bags, using large ingredient scooper, standing, and moving regularly throughout the 12-hour shift (lifting, staging, palletizing)
• Follow GMP and food-safety rules 100% of the time; no piercings, jewelry, headphones, ripped jeans, hats/ hoodies on the production floor (VERY STRICT)
• Keep area clean, organized, and production-ready (be aware dough and flour needs to be cleaned regularly.)

What I'm Looking For (Apply Only If You Meet These)
 2 years + years or more (NO GAPS) prior warehouse/manufacturing experience (food only and/or lifting over 50 lbs highly preferred)
• Comfortable with continuous, repetitive lifting of over 50 lb bags and containers, paying keen attention to imperfections, and standing the full shift
• Able to lift/handle product frequently (50 lbs+ of heavy, awkward loads)
• Strong attendance ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for first 30 days (arrive early—aim for 10 minutes early)

What You Need to Be Ready For
Cold environment (can feel down to ~30°F at times)
Steel-toe boots required daily
Strict GMP dress code: This company is HUGE on GMP principles YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY AND/ OR HAVE ASSIGNMENT ENDED FOR NOT FOLLOWING.
You must have steel-toed boots or shoes. Absolutely no untucked hoods/hoodies (get sweaters, sweatshirts, fleeces), jewelry/ piercings, false lashes/extensions, false nails/nail polish, shorts, collared button-downs, shirts with pockets, V-necks, leggings, tank tops, sleeveless shirts, cargo pants/ pants with rips

Pre-Hire Requirements (Must Be Completed)

Screenings (required before hire):
• Social Security verification
• County criminal background check
• I-9 verification (identity/work authorization documents)

Scheduled Onsite Step (required before hire):
• GMP training video + GMP test + Site Tour + 10-panel drug swab (NO THC)
• Time needed: ~90 minutes total

Timing note: Background clearance typically takes 2–7 business days.
