Long-term Special Education paraprofessionals to work Monday through Friday at Madison County Schools. There is also a need for daily, short-term special education paraprofessionals to sub for long-term paraprofessionals during their absence throughout the school year.
There are long-term paraprofessionals needed at the following Madison County Schools for the 2024-2025 school year:
- Hazel Green Elementary*-1 vacancy
- New Market Elementary*-1 vacancy
Schools with an (*) are Title 1 which require you to have an Associates degree, 48 college credit hours earned, or at least a 3 on the WorkKeys test.
Dependent upon assignment, but always under direct supervision of District/School employees, this role may be working directly in one of the following:
- A special education classroom
- A general education classroom or environment
- One-on-one with a student or small group of students
A paraprofessional provides classroom assistance to students with disabilities and to the assigned District/School teacher, who has ultimate responsibility for designing and implementing educational programs, activities and services.
Classroom assistance provided by the paraprofessional may include assisting with:
- Academic needs such as Reading and/or Math
- Behavior needs such as helping to keep student(s) on task and/or deescalating distracting/inappropriate behaviors
- Personal needs of students such as lifting, holding, diapering, assistance with hand-over hand feeding, or restroom assistance
Minimum requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Associates Degree or 48 College Credit Hours or WorkKeys (Level 3 or Higher Scores) for Title 1 Schools
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $15.13 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
