PLC Maintenance Technician II | Mishawaka, Indiana
Full-time | Contract-to-Hire | First shift

Pay rate: $40-45 DOE

Kelly Engineering is seeking a PLC Maintenance Technician to join our client's team. This role focuses on troubleshooting PLC ladder logic and troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical systems ranging from 24v DC to 480v AC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, ladder logic, I/O systems, and control wiring for automation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install complex electrical systems (24V DC to 480V AC), including VFDs, DC drives, and 3-phase motors.
  • Diagnose and maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems across the facility.
  • Perform advanced welding and fabrication tasks; lead machine guarding and modification projects.
  • Manage and prioritize work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and multiple maintenance projects to reduce downtime.
  • Support facility maintenance including lighting, HVAC, office infrastructure, and building repairs.
  • Maintain equipment such as Water Jet machines, CNC Mills, robotics, and coating systems.
  • Track, document, and demonstrate improvements in maintenance processes and equipment performance.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment in compliance with 5S standards.
  • Collaborate across departments and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as needed for maintenance emergencies or planned downtime.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive maintenance experience, with emphasis on both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
  • Computer skills, including maintenance tracking systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Able to lift 60 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights of 10–20 feet.
