Point Operator (Production / Packing & Inspection)
$16.00–$18.00/hr | Kankakee, IL (60901 area)  
Job Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire (Start with Kelly Services for 3–6 months, with opportunity to be hired on permanently)
Shift: 1st Shift | Mon–Fri, 6:00 AM – 2:15 PM (Some Saturdays as needed)
Start: ASAP (after required screenings are completed)

This is a steady, production-floor role in a plant that produces laminated paperboard corner/edge protection (“Angleboard”) used to protect pallet loads and cartons during shipping and strapping.  
If you're reliable, safety-minded, and you can keep quality tight while staying on pace, you'll do well here.

Job Details
Pay: $16.00–$18.00/hr (based on experience)
Location: Kankakee, IL  
Schedule: Mon–Fri | 6:00 AM – 2:15 PM (Some Saturdays)
PPE: You must bring your own steel-toe boots (other PPE provided as needed on-site)

What You'll Do
• Pack product from production lines onto pallets while staying within productivity expectations
• Inspect product periodically to confirm it meets dimensional requirements using a tape measure and dial caliper
• Complete production/quality paperwork clearly and correctly
• Communicate with production operators about order status, build requirements, and quality concerns
• Strap skids and move empty/completed skids to keep the line flowing
• Support the Roll Operator during “upset” conditions (downtime, jams, changeovers)
• Maintain housekeeping: move scrap to the baler and keep the area swept and clean

What I'm Looking For (Apply Only If You Meet These)
• High School Diploma/GED (required)
1–2+ years of recent production, assembly, or manufacturing experience (preferred)
• Comfortable using basic measuring tools (tape measure + calipers) and documenting results
• Strong safety habits, good listening skills, and consistent attendance
• Able to stay on your feet, work steadily, and handle a hands-on production environment
