Preclinical Surgical Assistant

Overview:

Kelly Science and Clinical is currently seeking a Preclinical Surgical Assistant to support preclinical surgeons at a global leader in medical devices. This full-time, long-term role is based in Cincinnati, Ohio and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including Medical, Dental, 401K, paid time off, holidays, and annual performance reviews. As a Preclinical Surgical Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting research, development, and evaluation of new products and surgical procedures using animate and inanimate models.
Shift:  Monday - Friday on site 7am - 3:30pm
Pay: $24-25 an hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead preclinical surgeons with both acute and survival procedures in preclinical laboratories.
  • Provide full support throughout the surgical process, including:
    • Operating as a surgical circulator.
    • Preparing instruments and operating rooms.
    • Assisting with animal preparation and recovery.
  • Strictly adhere to all required training and quality compliance standards.
  • Participate in preclinical research and testing for the development of open and minimally invasive surgical procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to advance preclinical research goals.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong background in veterinary or animal science.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a surgical environment.
  • Hands-on experience assisting with surgical procedures on various animal species, especially porcine, caprine, and canine.
  • Excellent written, oral, and listening communication skills.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
