Process Engineer (Carlisle, PA) 
Process Engineers needed-Direct Hire.

Our client, a premium manufacturer and supplier of premium building products and related technologies, is currently in need of three Process Engineers- Direct Hire. These roles are new roles created due to growth to support either R&D or Manufacturing. (Current Process Engineers do both- they work both in the R&D Lab and Supporting Manufacturing. These new roles will compliment existing Engineering team, supporting R&D and /or supporting Manufacturing).

At least two years' experience in the thermoplastics or rubber extrusion industry.
Extrusion experience is required. 
Preferred: Experience in the roofing industry with the last 5 years of experience with single-ply system production.   Also preferred, experience in at least one of these areas: Calendering/ Calendering in processing of plastics,  high- quality plastic film and sheet, PVC's,  thermoplastics,  polymers, also skills understanding mixing and dispersion of thermoset thermoplastic compounds, sheet extrusion / calendaring Aluminum paper foils, or Engineering principles related to polymeric materials processing would be helpful (any combination of).  A good Chemical Engineer with plastics extrusion experience may also be considered.  

Job Summary:
Process Engineers have the responsibility for implementing all research and development activities related to membrane manufacturing and associated processes. They are the link to plant processing associated with manufacturing and assembling products and assisting in design and start-up of process equipment. This encompasses creating technical design specifications for equipment, developing processing specifications, providing process assistance to the plants and development of ACE justifications. Process Engineers will use sound process engineering principles and techniques across multiple material disciplines including thermoplastics and thermosets. The Process Engineer will collaborate with chemists, other engineers, and technically trained personnel, and operates under the general guidance of the Director, Membrane Process R&D.  

Essential Duties: 
Support and/or lead the development and maintenance of manufacturing and process specifications for supported products.  Products include thermoplastic, thermoset membrane, and associated accessories.     
Assist with equipment/line installs and start-ups associated with capital equipment projects    
Work with all applicable departments (Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, etc.) to define project priorities, project scope and future development directions associated with manufacturing processes.    
Support the entire R&D group, by answering questions, assisting with testing, qualifying new materials, evaluating equipment or systems, or providing any other applicable assistance as needed.
Participate/ Lead task  groups to investigate new methods and equipment for the manufacturing of membrane products and recycling scrap membrane.

Education and Experience: 
Education: BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Plastics & Polymer Engineering, Physical Science or Mechanical Engineering a minimum.
Chemical Engineering degree preferred.
At least 2 years industry experience.
Plastics and/or plastics extrusion experience (Pulp/Paper may work- Pulp/Paper products /plant fibers, etc.. high tensile strength like plastics).
Extrusion Experience/ Thermoplastic Experience (industry and/or schooling labs).
Preferred:
Paper & Pulp Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Research & Development; Root Cause Analysis, Failure Analysis, Process Design and Product Optimization (or related experience).
Knowledge of mixing and dispersion of thermoset thermoplastic compounds.
Engineering principles related to polymeric materials processing.
General building and roofing construction.
Various single-ply materials and design skills. 
Experience in the thermoplastics or rubber extrusion industry preferred.
Experience in the roofing industry with experience with single-ply system production preferred.
Huge pluses: Experience with sheet extrusion / calendaring, experience with aluminum paper foils (or related experience).
