Required Skills
- Solid hands-on experience with laboratory equipment setup and operation, along with safe chemical handling practices
- Advanced formulation expertise and deep understanding of ingredient interactions, emulsification, and dispersion techniques
- Thorough knowledge of FDA regulations and cGMP standards for cosmetic and manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly and effectively
- Strong problem-solving abilities, initiative, and critical thinking to troubleshoot and optimize formulations and processes
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work collaboratively across teams, and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for reporting and documentation
Nice to Have Skills
- Expertise in emulsion chemistry, pigment dispersion, and mineral active ingredients such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide
- Experience in technical transfer and scale-up within a GMP or manufacturing setting
- Proven success in raw material selection and process innovations
- Familiarity with external supplier collaboration and staying current on emerging technological advancements
Preferred Education and Experience
- MS or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in cosmetic R&D, formulation, or process support environments
Other Requirements
- Willingness to provide on-site support during pilot batches and scale-up trials
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Regulatory, Marketing, and Operations
- Experience working with and building relationships with raw material suppliers
- Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the R&D community
