Lead Food Safety & Quality Excellence at a Premier Producer of All-Natural Desserts

Position Overview: Quality Manager
Are you ready to champion quality and drive food safety for the industry's best-in-class dessert manufacturer? As our Quality Manager, you will assume the highest level of responsibility for food defense, quality assurance, and continuous improvement program leadership. You will be the architect behind our food safety systems, cultivating the operational excellence and integrity that set our products apart. Your expertise will ensure that our production meets and exceeds the most rigorous industry standards, with each bite reflecting our ongoing commitment to quality.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership

  • Develop, communicate, and execute the organization's long-term vision for quality and food safety.
  • Mentor and foster growth within a talented team, enhancing leadership across all functions.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary problem solving and collaborate cross-functionally to drive results.
Quality & Food Safety Systems
  • Lead, optimize, and elevate broad-reaching product quality and food safety programs.
  • Act as SQF Practitioner and site Preventive Controls Qualified Individual, maintaining uncompromised compliance.
  • Ensure regulatory (FDA, State Health Departments) and third-party standards (SQF Level 2/GFSI) are implemented, maintained, and continuously improved.
  • Define and monitor product attributes against the Gold Standard, delivering maximum consumer delight.
  • Build insightful Quality Loops that turn data into operational excellence.
Process Controls & Continuous Improvement
  • Guide and mentor leaders in disciplined Root Cause Analysis, developing a proactive problem-solving culture.
  • Oversee non-conformance and corrective action processes to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Utilize SPC (statistical process control) and continuous improvement tools (Kaizen, Gemba, 5S, etc.) to reduce variation and push best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (OR substantial relevant experience).
  • 5+ years' experience in quality, continuous improvement, or food science, ideally in baking or dessert manufacturing.
  • FSMA PCQI Certification required; ISO 9001 or other certifications highly valued.
  • Innovative thinker with a drive to challenge conventional solutions.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit – thrives under pressure and uncertainty.
  • Naturally curious, tenacious problem solver.
  • Strong organizational skills, deadlines-oriented with the ability to set priorities and deliver results.
