Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Sample Accessioning Technician for contract-to-hire (temp-to-permanent, ~6-12 month conversion) position at a biotechnology client in St. Louis, MO. Position Overview: The Accessioner will carry out essential administrative and organizational laboratory tasks related to diagnostic testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, organize, aliquot, label, store, and inventory human blood, plasma samples, and other biological specimens.
- Verify the accuracy of client and specimen details.
- Support the sample accession manager in maintaining sample inventories.
- Assist lab management with routine tasks in a bioanalytical laboratory, including ordering supplies, receiving deliveries, maintaining inventories, and performing regular maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Aid laboratory personnel with cleaning duties.
- Follow all quality, privacy, and safety protocols in accordance with relevant regulatory agencies.
Preferred (but not required) Qualifications:
- Experience working with human biological specimens (e.g., blood).
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Required Qualifications/Education/Skills:
- Associate's degree or higher in chemistry, biology, or a related field is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a research or clinical laboratory is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and database entry.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with others.
- Knowledge of biosafety rules, policies, and procedures.
Compensation and Schedule:
- Pay Rate: $20-$23 per hour
- Hours:
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, OR
- Flexibility is needed for an earlier start when necessary
